it seems like the game somehow closes itself when I played it 
is there a solution for that? (I am currently using the latest version of Windows)

Maybe because it’s released over a decade before and sometimes these older games don’t run in our new Windows. What you can try is, right click in the exe file, choose properties and from the tab compatibility choose to run it in older Windows like 7. It might work!
