The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery
Where shadows end, the hunt begins.
From the darkly prolific mind of creator Jane Jensen comes the second Gabriel Knight® mystery: The Beast Within. We find Schattenjäger, or shadow hunter, Gabriel and his assistant Grace Nakimura deeply embroiled in a murderous mystery that unravels half a world away.
Play as both Gabriel and Grace as they are dispatched to Munich to solve a series of mutilation murders thought to be the work of werewolves. Gabriel confronts his own demons while Grace traces an historical mystery, that of the strange demise of Mad King Ludwig II. The hunters become the hunted, and the only hope for deliverance lies in the most desperate of schemes…
Features:

- Perspectives change and two stories unfold while you play as both Gabriel and Grace.

Probably a silly question but I can’t get this to work. I’ve downloaded both files, have them in the same folder and run the setup file from part 1. It starts to run it but shortly after it says CRC failed ; setup_gabriel_knight_2-1.bin. I’m using 7-zip. Any suggestions?
Hi. First step after you put them in the same folder is to extract/unzip them. Right click in part 1 and choose extract here (both parts will combine automatically to one folder). Then, in the folder that created from the two parts you will find the .exe you need to run to play the game.
I use bandizip for many years and never had issues with it. But 7zip will work fine too.
Thank you, Snowangel. Yes, that’s what I’ve tried to do. That error comes up when I extract part 1.
Thank you Snow for posting! You are such a star.. Working for me – to play in full screen on Windows 10 you do ctrl alt and enter at same time.
I used winrar to extract and did not put the two files into a folder; just clicked on part 1; then following the GOG instructions to install; disconnected the internet and my antivirus before (I hope this works Tam856)
Thanks for the tips Ruby! I’m glad you enjoyed the game 🙂
Thanks, Ruby. Apparently my issue was the filename it saved under. The same with The Raven game. Once I took out all the periods except for the one before the extension, it worked with WinRar.
